31 May Easter-Stations of Encounter
For the past several years, we have provided an interactive and contemplative space for people to journey through the stories of Holy Week and the Resurrection. For a week, we open our Chapel from 8 am to 8 pm as a quiet and sacred space available on a drop-in and self-guided basis for those who want to engage the season intentionally and reflectively. Each year has been unique and somewhat reflective of where we are as a church, but the format has been consistent. We have an introductory/beginning space that gives directions and guidance, followed by 8-10 stations at small tables, and finally a spot at the end to share reflections. Each station has artwork, a short biblical passage to read through, a specific action or way to engage the story (often tactile or utilizing one of our five senses), and a few questions to prompt reflection and conversation with God. This has consistently been a space where people of all ages experience the presence of the Spirit, an intimacy with Jesus, and an invitation to more fully live into the resurrection life God offers us!
